Larry Lacerte founded Exponent Technologies in 1978 to meet the challenges facing accounting professionals. His development of Lacerte Tax Software ignited a paradigm shift in technology for the tax industry at a time when terms like "desktop computer" and "on-line" services were unknown. Over a 20-year period and through numerous innovations, Larry established Lacerte Tax Software as the clear leader in service and market share.

As one of the leading entrepreneurs in the technology for over 25 years, Larry Lacerte has been a founder, developer, owner operator, and chief executive.  He is credited with bringing technological innovation to the accounting industry and was named as one of the “Trailblazers in Technology” by Accounting Today.  In 1998, Larry sold Lacerte Tax Software to Intuit.
